Cute, fun, and seriously impressive!
While Astro Bot doesn’t have a deep story, it doesn’t need one. You play as Astro, a little robot on a mission to save his friends. The plot is simple but perfectly serves the game’s playful nature. Think of it as an excuse to jump, dash, and collect all the things, which is honestly enough when the gameplay and visuals are this delightful.
Where Astro Bot truly shines is in its 3D platformer mechanics. The game feels so smooth running at 60fps on the PS5, and the movement is fluid, making each jump and dash feel satisfying. There’s a good mix of puzzles, platforming, and mini-games. You’ll love collecting bots and exploring every nook and cranny of the levels. However, enemy variety could’ve been better – you’ll face the same enemies with different hats, which is fun for a bit but starts to feel repetitive.
If this is what the PS5 can do, why do we even need a PS5 Pro? (don't @ me!)
The visuals are stunning. Astro Bot takes full advantage of the PS5’s capabilities, delivering sharp graphics and a world that’s a joy to explore. The design of the environments is creative, with each world feeling distinct yet consistently vibrant. It’s hard not to smile when playing, given the charm the game oozes.
Oh, that soundtrack! It’s absolutely killer and adds so much to the game. It’s catchy, upbeat, and really captures the essence of the PlayStation nostalgia. The tunes have that magical Nintendo-quality vibe, and it makes every level feel like an epic adventure.
✅ Stunning visuals that make full use of PS5 hardware
✅ Fun, smooth platforming gameplay
✅ Killer soundtrack that’s pure joy
✅ Short but sweet – the perfect bite-sized adventure
❌ Lack of enemy variety – same bad guys, different hats
❌ The game is a bit too short for some – I wanted more!
Astro Bot is a must-play if you’re a PS5 owner. The visuals, soundtrack, and platforming are top-notch, and it’s a fun, nostalgia-packed ride. While it’s not the longest game, it’s well worth the time and perfect for fans of platformers. Plus, the PS5’s 60fps really makes it feel like a smooth, immersive experience. I’m going for the Platinum myself – if you love PlayStation, you’ll adore this one!
