Chainsaws, cyborgs, and corrupted code.
Sony’s April monthly PlayStation Plus games are locked and loaded, and it’s a beautifully bizarre trio: a dystopian cop sim, an asymmetrical horror title, and a deep-cut JRPG with hundreds of digital monsters.
Available April 1 – May 5, the games are free for all PlayStation Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium subscribers. Here’s what’s in your download queue:
I’ve spent time with this one already — and let me tell you, they’ve nailed the feel of the original movie trilogy. The gritty vibe, the clunky (but in a good way) movement, the Auto-9 kicking off — it’s all here. The game plays surprisingly well, and Peter Weller returning as Robo just seals the deal. If you’re a fan of the films, this is a no-brainer download.
No peaceful farming here. It’s you versus Leatherface (and his delightful family) in this 3v4 multiplayer horror game. Whether you’re trying to escape or playing the psychopath, it’s brutal, strategic, and very, very sweaty.
Digimon meets crime thriller. You’re wrongly accused of something shady and dive into the digital underground to prove your innocence. 300+ Digimon to collect, turn-based battles to win, and a surprisingly decent story to unravel. A cult classic for a reason.
A month with robo-justice, murder families, and pixelated monsters? Sure, why not.
